Innovation Minister Allan Campbell congratulates Mary-Jean Irving, CEO of Master Packaging, on government's $14 million loan
Charlottetown, PEI, Canada – Why is everyone hiding in a dark corner over $400 million Provincial Nominee Program PNP money? CBC is rallying the usual round of pro-business boosters to say the PNP scandal was good for PEI,
Business rallying for immigrant investor program. We’d like to believe them. In the old days of pre-PNP patronage, when a business got a grant or a loan, the government was big about a press release, picture with the Minister’s hand on a shovel or a lever. It was a condition of getting the loan or grant. Why doesn’t the Provincial Government do the same thing for the PNP? Of course, with over 800 recipients, it would take up too much time and space in the Guardian. So just publish a list on the new government website of the PNP recipients with business name, amount received and 25 word blurb on how the money would be spent (5 new jobs, new building, etc.). The Province made a big announcement for $14 million and Irving’s, so why not the PNP? That would clear up the whole matter and we could get on with our lives.
