Private “I” wants dope on Immigrant Scam
By Stephen Pate, NJN Network, Charlottetown, PEI Canada, January 27th, 2009
with story from The Guardian
James Petrie, a former Islander turned US private investigator, has been looking for information on the Immigrant Scam or PNP. The Guardian reports today he is looking for a whistle blower to send him brown envelopes full of PNP dirt. Petrie has been sniffing around PEI for information since the fall. Petrie says he has an immigrant client who has been defrauded by the Immigrant Scam and wants to sue for damages. I doubt anyone is going to give him information on which he will make money. Someone might “sell” him information since Petrie is selling it again to someone else. Petrie claims to have worked on the Mount Herbert Orphanage case which wasted everyone’s time and used up the money in the process. The lawyers were happy: the orphans had their hopes dashed.
To: Stephen Pate
You are obviously intent on doing damage to my business with your totally unfounded allegations and your efforts to broadly publish them. You claimed that I am planning to sell private information to whom ever, and that I have purposely wasted the time of the victims of the Mount Herbert Orphanage. Both claims are a matter of opinion of which you should have none as you have done no research at all with respect to my involvement. If you researched your topics you might know that I am conducting an investigation on the PNP with little pay and that my work is for the courts to view not for trade of money or anything else: I work for justice and truth. (Perhaps hard to believe for you) The PNP and the Orphanage investigations were opened with a very small budget because “I” believe in justice and I don’t need the money. I have worked for several years; on the Orphanage investigation, on a part-time bases, for no money at all, during the last six years. I am still working the case and will continue as long as we have an Attorney who is willing to go to a higher court. We didn’t cause the case to last seven years, it was your unjust courts who did that. The fact that you have linked your false information to other areas suggests that you are intent on doing damage to both me and my business Advanced Private Investigations. My Attorney April MacBride suggested that I ask you to remove all reference to me and my business from your Blog. My Attorney also asked me why you would launch such an unfounded attack on API and I had no answer for her. I will be on the Island soon and intend on filing a Statement of Claim against you at that time if there is any reference to me or my company found on your site, in any form of media, including the internet in any manner, connected to this matter including any other comments from you with respect to any matter involving James Petrie or Advanced Private Investigation, at that time. I will contact co-council on PEI tomorrow and have that Attorney send you a formal letter via Process Service with respect to this matter. I do not wish to have any further contact with you and formally request that you do not contact me or my staff.
Furthermore, I have sent your letter off to Clint Docken as you have made a false statement with respect to his situation as well. I’ll let him deal with you on that matter.
