We don’t want your stinking Easter Seals

CBC Easter Seals, Bruce and Matt Rainnie the Jerry Lewis twins of PEI
The disabled are not freaks for your freak show

with a story from FREDA, Jerry Lewis humanitarian award demonstrations set for this weekend
Just like Americans with disabilities don’t want the Jerry Lewis TV freak show, we don’t want your stinking Easter Seals Show on CBC March 1, 2009. We don’t want to be your trussed up little moneys wobbling across the stage at the Confederation Centre so you can feel sorry for us. We don’t want your stinking money. It’s all guilt money.
“Oh look Martha, he’s so pitiful and cute. And he doesn’t drool much.”
To set the record straight. I have a disability. I did those child fund raisers. I was on the inside of Rotary, Easter Seals and CBC and know the corruption first hand. No one else will tell you this story.
Get over it. Easter Seals Telethons are a gong show from the past, like those black faced coon shows with white people dressed up to look like shuck and jive “niggers”. Go home Bruce and Matt Rainnie. Kick your own dog or cat. Leave us alone. Boomer, you’re a nice guy but we don’t want your jokes. You’re too nice to get mixed up in this abuse.
If you really want to help Islanders with disabilities, see the end of this article. For the abuse the child will endure, you are helping raise less than 1% of the real money needed for Islanders with disabilities. You also give the government an excuse not to do more. Do not send money to Easter Seals and Rotary. It just encourages them to do it again next year. The only hope of relief is they don’t make money. They won’t stop the abuse for any other reason.
For all you well meaning volunteers, sorry. You’re doing the wrong thing. Take the day off. Don’t go to the Confederation Centre. You are abusing children with disabilities and demeaning all Islanders with disabilities. You are encouraging Rotary and CBC to do this again.
People with disabilities are just people. We are not freaks. Stop abusing children in your goals Rotary. Rotarian’s are the most stubborn bunch of middle class, white bigots I have met on PEI. They won’t change. They won’t adapt. It took them until the mid-90’s to let women join for the love of God. They are racist, bigoted and think disabled children are puppets for their fund raising. As soon as the cheque is in the bank, they drop the child like a stone. Don’t come to our meetings. Don’t join the club unless you look just like us they tell disabled people.
Rotarians are mad that I am exposing this. One of them threatened to call the RCMP. I thought that was a good start. Maybe we could get Child Protection in on this as well. Maybe some of those Rotarians may turn out to be perverts or just greedy old men. I don’t know what but they sure are stubborn.
What about CBC Charlottetown? Well they are desperately in need of a mid-winter turkey drive. Are the disabled the turkeys being thrown out of the helicopter in a bizarre WKRP publicity stunt? Must be hard to be over paid CBC employees without an original thought in your heads on promotion other than abuse of children with disabilities.
How to help the disabled on PEI
1. Got a stamp? Send Premier Ghiz a letter and ask him to put the additional $10 million the PEI Disability Support Program needs to fund the 4,300 Islanders without a wheelchair or other assistive device.

2. Still got some money? Send a cheque to Camp Gencheff directly. They run a superb summer camp for children with disabilities and they treat them with respect.
